PERMISSION SECURED FOR FIVE DWELLINGS ON HISTORIC LANDFILL SITE IN CLIFFSEND

Detailed planning permission was secured by the Practice in August 2019 for a cul-de-sac of five chalet bungalows adjoining but outside the settlement confines of Cliffsend.

Hume Planning, alongside specialist contamination consultants, negotiated with the Environment Agency to overcome their concerns to the scheme, given the historic landfill use at the site, in order to confirm that the site is acceptable for development. Following this, Thanet District Council’s Planning Committee recently approved the application in line with the planning officer’s recommendation. Construction on site is likely to commence early next year.
