Seven Stones Drive Sea View
Hume Planning Consultancy have secured planning permission for the erection of a single detached dwelling overlooking the coast in Dumpton, Broadstairs. The bespoke design takes advantage of the sea views, utilising an existing vacant plot along a varied residential frontage. We are delighted to have supported the client through the initial phases of building their dream home with their current family ties in Broadstairs.
The final design follows lengthy negotiations to resolve overlooking issues and to ensure the use of local materials are incorporated into the overall design.

Historic High Street and Harbour Site Set to be Revitalised
Hume Planning Consultancy have recently secured planning and listed building consent for the change of use, conversion and roof extension to an existing building within Queenborough conservation area to provide two residential flats along the historic high street.
The proposal provides an opportunity to use the underutilised building more efficiently through the provision of town centre accommodation, whilst positively enhancing the appearance of the building within the historic frontage and capitalising on views towards Queenborough harbour to the rear. Hume Planning Consultancy worked with Swale Borough Council to resolve technical issues relating to residential amenity and heritage at the site.
Go ahead secured for improvements to children’s care provision in Deal
Dover District Council have approved the change of use of a dwelling into a children’s care home within a residential area in Deal. This will help to provide both important housing and care to children within the local area.
The permission was secured for Channels and Choices who provide specialist residential care, fostering, education and therapy to children who experience trauma at an early stage. Ofsted regulations require the correct planning consent to be in place before the use of the home commences, therefore this permission has been instrumental in enabling the home to open and provide support to young children while they wait for a more permanent living situation.

Tiger Inn Pub, Stowting
Hume Planning have supported the Tiger Inn and finally reached a resolution for the advert pub sign, following negotiations with the Local Planning and Highways Authorities.

Following a successful appeal decision earlier this year, Hume Planning Consultancy have secured delegated approval for a resubmission involving amendments. This approval will enable the delivery of a self-build dwelling within the Green Belt.
