“Grey Belt” decision brings early festive cheer at Christmas Farm Kennels site

Following a positive officer recommendation, which was recently backed by Members at Reigate & Bansted’s Planning Committee, Hume Planning Consultancy have secured permission for the erection of four bungalows at Christmas Farm Kennels and Cattery which will replace the existing run-down structures within the Metropolitan Green Belt.

The proposal comprises the redevelopment of previously developed land which would deliver family dwellings in the countryside, albeit closely related to Salford village and located north of Horley and London Gatwick Airport. Hume Planning worked with Officers throughout the pre-application and application stages in order to present an appropriate design solution that would maintain the openness of the Green Belt and enhance the character of the countryside compared to the existing buildings. The Practice also co-ordinated the project team in order to resolve technical issues relating to ecology and highways at the site, which will deliver enhancements as a result. We look forward to the delivery of this scheme.
