APPEAL ALLOWED AND PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED FOR ADDITIONAL DWELLING WITHIN AREA OF HIGH TOWNSCAPE VALUE

An appeal Inspector has overruled the decision of Thanet District Council to refuse an application for the erection of a single storey detached dwelling following the sub-division of an existing plot of land in North Foreland, Broadstairs. Despite every effort to achieve a negotiated decision it was necessary to prosecute an appeal in this case and the Inspector agreed with Hume Planning’s assessment of the character of the area and the impact of the proposed scheme, part of which focused on whether the proposal would or would not represent “backland development”.

This scheme will be delivered by Thanet-based, award winning developers TG Designer Homes and will support the delivery of high quality, bespoke development in this Area of High Townscape Value.
