SPORT AND HOUSING HUB (88 DWELLINGS) APPROVED IN DEAL

Continuing Hume Planning’s commitment to sport and housing delivery, the Practice has recently helped to secure permission for Sunningdale, a regional housebuilder, which will see the delivery of 88 dwellings with an all surface playing pitch, pavilion and car park on part of a former KCC playing field.

Hume Planning coordinated the consultancy team and led negotiations with the Sports Council and Dover District Council, as well as addressing a number of technical and design led issues. The Practice were able to convince officers and members that there would be qualitative improvements in sports provision for the community that would be facilitated by the housing development (which also was much needed).

This proposal demonstrates how housing can meet more than need alone via the delivery of an important piece of sporting infrastructure for Deal serving local clubs and fostering community and health benefits which we were proud to have helped contribute to “make happen”.
