OVERCOMING HERITAGE SENSITIVITIES TO DELIVER NEW HOUSING IN WESTGATE

Hume Planning obtained planning permission for the delivery of 5 dwellings in the Westgate Conservation Area.

The site had a complex planning history blighted by several planning refusals and dismissed appeals over a number of years. Following the promotion of the site through the local plan process Hume Planning negotiated with the Local Planning Authority on a number of technical matters, overcoming concerns relating to the impact of development on the designated Conservation Area and successfully pursuing a design layout comprising 5 dwellings three storeys in height.
