MAKING THE MOST OF ‘TURNER SKIES’, MARGATE

Occupying an enviable location on Margate seafront adjacent to the Turner Centre, The Arcadian is a large detached building housing a number of self-contained apartments. Hume Planning Consultancy successfully represented our clients in obtaining planning permission for the erection of two new roof top apartments that benefit from the site’s spectacular setting.

The design approach that was explored with the LPA through pre-application discussions, was to create an additional floor on top of the building that took a contemporary, yet sympathetic approach to historic setting of the Conservation Area and adjacent listed buildings, whilst complimenting the architectural style of the main building to provide high quality accommodation suited to modern living requirements.
