monkton road, minster
This farmyard redevelopment lies on the edge of Minster Village and comprises of four detached dwellings. The site was previously an untidy storage yard that had become vacant. Constructed by a local building firm, this high-quality development has utilised a courtyard arrangement, featuring a variety of barn-type architecture, to reflect its agricultural surroundings and provide a drastic visual and landscape improvement.
Despite its location outside of the settlement boundary, Hume Planning worked alongside Planning Officers at Thanet District Council to secure a delegated approval for the scheme successfully highlighting the benefits of the proposal including the re-use of previously developed land, a boost to the Council’s housing land supply, its connections to the village services and improvements to the character and appearance of the countryside.
