The Kings Arms, Elham
Hume Planning was instructed to assist with negotiations that proposed to upgrade a central village pub (which was a listed building) within the market square of Elham.
A number of issues affected negotiations including the scale of the additional floorspace and neighbours’ concerns about the increase in activity and competition for the available parking spaces in the square.
Whilst a planning appeal was lodged, a negotiated permission was secured and the approved works which represent a significant investment have been undertaken and the Kings Arms has now reopened, safeguarding an important community hub for the future, creating a high-quality pub and restaurant.
