DRILL HALL COMMUNITY HUB APPROVED IN SANDWICH
Hume Planning is excited to announce the securing of planning approval for a change of use to the Drill Hall in Sandwich. Formerly a Cadet Centre, the Drill Hall was granted approval for a change of use to a restaurant (Class A3) in 2018. Hume Planning has now successfully gained approval for the change of use to class A1-A5 (Retail), B1 (Office) and D1 (Non-residential Institutions).
The Drill Hall will now aim to provide flexible community and commercial space close to the centre of Sandwich town and will help support the growth of the locally based business currently operating within the building. The proposal allows the building to be used more effectively as a shared space by incorporating a complementary mixture of retail, business and community uses whilst bringing the vacant first floor level of the building back into use.
