Just the Beginning FOR LIDSING
The recent adoption of the Maidstone Local Plan Review and the inclusion of the Lidsing Garden Community as a strategic housing allocation represents the successful culmination of over 7 years of site promotion, during which Hume Planning has coordinated a large professional team on behalf of K D Attwood & Partners.
Working closely with a wide range of key stakeholders, we have secured an allocation for c 2,000 dwellings, 14 ha of employment land, a local centre and significant areas of open space alongside important new infrastructure.
However, this represents just the beginning for what the Local Plan Inspector recognised will be “an attractive, exemplar community”.
High quality placemaking and the ability to deliver are central to our Client’s vision for Lidsing and we now begin the key stages of working with the LPA and other key stakeholder to create further guidance to support the master planning and delivery processes. Over the coming months we will be working closely with Maidstone BC to jointly prepare an SPD that will guide the preparation and determination of future planning applications. It is expected that outline planning permission will be secured in 2025.
