‘GOING TO THE CHAPEL …’ – A BEFITTING USE SECURED FOR THE STUNNING GRADE II LISTED CHAPEL HOUSE, MINSTER

Hume Planning Consultancy were delighted to represent clients in bringing forward a fantastic opportunity to secure planning permission and listed building consent for the change of use and conversion of the main listed building and curtilage buildings, together with the erection of a new function barn with separate guest lodges and facilities to enable the creation of a high quality wedding/function venue.

The development was founded in an understanding of the historical evolution and significance of the site and will secure a long term viable use that is appropriate for this heritage asset and the stunning formal gardens that surrounds it. Working collaboratively across a range of disciplines, Hume Planning were able to co-ordinate the proposal to ensure that it was compatible with heritage, landscape, ecological, transport, tourism, economic development and wider sustainable planning objectives. The new rural based business that was supported by planning and tourism officers will provide local employment opportunities both directly with on-site staff and in-directly with connections to other local and complimentary businesses and suppliers. We are sure that it will become a real asset for the local area. We wish the venture every success in the future.
