AUTUMN 2022 SMALLER PROJECTS UPDATE

Kearsney Manor, Alkham – Hume Planning has recently secured a permission for additional floorspace, supporting the Channels and Choices Group at Kearsney Manor at Alkham.

Baypoint – We also wish the best for the Life Skills Manor School at Baypoint near Sandwich following the extra classrooms we helped secure for this fantastic Special Educational Needs School to expand, which we assisted with securing the planning in July 2022.

Green Lane Farm – Hume Planning was also pleased to assist with regularising planning issues at Green Lane Farm in July 2022 which will allow the owner’s orchard and cider press business to develop.

Kings Arms Alkham – Hume Planning was pleased to avoid a planning appeal that had been lodged to the Inspectorate as a result of the resubmission of an updated scheme. The revised submission was agreed at the Folkestone and Hythe Planning Committee in October 2022. The submission related to proposals for the extension of a listed pub at the heart of the village and will result in exciting change that will serve to safeguard the long-term use of the pub as a community meeting place. We wish our client, Darrell Healy, the best in replicating his successful approach to investment at the Kings Arms like the Marquis de Granby and Tiger Inn at Stowting.

“Eccleston” The Grove, Westgate – In April 2022, the Practice secured detailed permission for 8 dwellings on a non-allocated site within the Westgate Conservation Area after a long period of negotiation.

Quartacre, Minster – During September 2022, Hume Planning was successful in securing detailed planning permission for two family dwellings at an edge of village site in Minster in Thanet.

Shottendane Farm, Margate – Whilst promoting the site through the local plan process, Hume Planning had begun preparations of a detailed planning application for 7 dwellings within the grounds of a listed building and permission was secured after a long period of negotiation with the LPA in March 2022.

The Edge, St Margaret’s – In May 2022, The Practice successfully secured detailed permission for a replacement dwelling on a prominent cliffside site, enjoying some of the most panoramic views across the English Channel.

Poison Cross Nursery, Foxborough Hill – In March 2022, Hume Planning successfully secured permission for a mixed-use development scheme beyond the village boundary for 6 dwellings and 8 office/workshop units.
