DOVER DISTRICT COUNCIL WINS RICS REGIONAL AWARD FOR WILLIAM MUGE AND SNELGROVE DEVELOPMENT

The Council's Strategic Development Lead, Rob Page, has provided Hume Planning with his comments on the achievement:

The Council are very pleased to have recently won the RICS Regional award for the William Muge and Snelgrove Development. It is a key regeneration project for Dover that was successfully delivered within the constraints of a difficult brownfield site, a restricted budget and a compressed programme.

Hume Planning were an integral part of this team and through their local knowledge and collaborative approach, contributed in no small part to the successful delivery of the project. The advice given enabled the wider team to strike the right balance between scale and density whilst ensuring the project remained commercially viable during the pre-construction phase.

Through Hume Planning’s sensitive liaisons with both the local planning authority and the architects they were able facilitate an agreement that gave us a palette of materials and forms that are truly in keeping with the existing contextual vernacular and this I am convinced will only get better as the patina of the brickwork enriches over time.
