APPEAL SUCCESS FOR FOUR DWELLINGS IN WHITSTABLE

Following earlier dismissed appeals, Hume Planning Consultancy have finally won outline permission for the erection of four dwellings on a sustainably located backland site in Whitstable.

The application was supported by officer’s as a result of the supporting justification provided by the practice and specialist noise consultants relating to the impact on residential amenity related to a single property adjoining the site, but was subsequently refused by Members at Planning Committee. Hume Planning appealed this decision, and an independent Inspector has recently determined the appeal in favour of the scheme. This is a great result following years of negotiating on the proposals which will result in the delivery of a windfall site to boost Canterbury’s housing supply.
